The Southington Police Department arrested a West Haven woman on Saturday, Oct. 24 for forging a prescription at a local pharmacy.
Tameka Allen, 36, was arrested on a warrant at approximately 4 p.m. after an investigation showed that Allen attempted to fill a prescription for oxycodone at the Walgreen’s Pharmacy at 359 Main St. on June 2, 2015. The pharmacist noticed that the prescription was in the name of another person, so it was not filled by the pharmacist. Two days later, the pharmacy received confirmation that the prescription was fraudulent, and at that time the police investigation was initiated.
Allen was arrested and charged with second degree forgery and criminal attempt/obtaining a controlled substance by fraud. She was released on a promise to appear at Bristol Superior Court on Nov. 2.
