Election 2015: Voter information, ballot, referendum items, and polling places

When polls open on Tuesday, Nov. 3, local voters will be casting ballots for six Town Council candidates, six Board of Education candidates, four Board of Finance candidates, three Planning and Zoning Commission candidates, and three Water Commission candidates.

In addition, there are two referendum questions on the ballot.

The first question asks voters if the Town of Southington should appropriate $2 million in bonds for purchasing and developing open space properties.

The second referendum question asks voters if the Town of Southington should appropriate $9.4 million in bonds for costs related to the design, construction, furnishing, and equipping of a new senior center to be located on the Calendar House Senior Citizen Center site, including the demolition of the existing facility.

General Elections will be held at all 11 polling places: South End School (district 1), Kennedy Middle School (district 2), Derynoski Elementary School (district 3), Hatton Elementary School (district 4), Flanders Elementary School (district 5), Depaolo Middle School (district 6), Kelley Elementary School (district 7), Thalberg Elementary School (district 8), Tabernacle (district 9), Plantsville Elementary School (district 10), and Strong Elementary School (district 11).

The general elections are open to all registered Southington voters. Voting for referendum items are open to all registered Southington voters and, for expenditure questions, taxpayers who own at least $1,000 of property in the Town of Southington.
