To the editor:

The decision to file and then uphold an ethics complaint against Tom Lombardi is an outrage that flies in the face of any sense of fair play.

The originator of the complaint, Attorney Rosenblatt—who is also the party chairman of the party that opposes Lombardi—acted as presenter and prosecutor during the Sept. 7 hearing. This charade of a hearing also saw an associate of Mr. Rosenblatt, also with the opposing party, on the “ethics board” taking part in this political ambush.

Are Mr. Rosenblatt and his few followers so desperate for votes in the upcoming election that they resort to attacking a dedicated public servant based solely on their opinion while ignoring facts?

This is not a case of Republican vs. Democrat, but rather a case absent of respect and common decency.
