To the editor:
I have known Christopher Palmieri his whole life. It does not surprise me of the successful, caring, compassionate person that he has become. He puts everything into all that he does and seems to have a tireless amount of energy that lets him accomplish it.
Whether it is in his position as Assistant Principal at DePaolo, member of the Town Council, director of the drama programs at both middle schools, co-chair of Apple Harvest Festival Committee, vice-chair of the Middle School building renovation committee, served on the Hospital Advisory Committee to save Bradley Memorial Hospital, serves on the Public Works and Sewer Committees, Treasurer for Southington Community Theater and is on the Executive Boards for STEPS (whew!).
He approaches it all with an openness, fairness, and everyone-matters attitude. Chris knows no other way.
Chris was recently named as the UNICO Person of the Year, a coveted award one does not receive by sitting on the sidelines and watching others. During his speech at this ceremony, Dr. Erardi, our former Superintendent of Schools, stated there are certain people you want along with you on “the bus.” These are the people that will support you, provide advice to you, help you make good decision, etc. Dr. Erardi envisioned Chris Palmieri driving the bus.
I think this really sums it up and says what a leader Chris Palmieri is.
I recognize how fortunate Southington is to have Chris Palmieri volunteer so much of his time for the only town he has ever known….a town he loves dearly….a town that has gained so much from Chris’ efforts. I hope you recognize this as well and will vote to return him to the Town Council.
