The Southington Police Department announced that Dylan Cooke, 21, of Plantsville and Jonathan Siarkowski, 20, of Plantsville, were arrested on Thursday, Sept. 17.
The arrests came after police received a call from a Brunalli Construction employee at approximately 1:09 p.m. from the Brunalli property at 248 Buckland St.
The employee reported observing two men loading aluminum forming joists into a vehicle that was parked on the property. The aluminum joists were valued at $128 per joist. Police found six joists in the possession of Cooke and Siarkowski, for a total of $768 in property.
During the theft, some of the joists were cut to fit inside the vehicle and now have no value other than as scrap metal. The perimeter of the Brunalli property is posted as privat property, no trespassing.
Both Cooke and Siarkowski were charged with fifth degree larceny, second degree criminal mischief, and third degree criminal trespassing. Both were released on a promise to appear in Bristol Court on Sept. 23.
