To the editor:
I would like to thank everyone who helped pull last weekend’s Community Cookout together. It was a great success, considering it was pieced together in a short amount of time. Without everyone who helped this would never have been possible. Here comes the list…
Big thanks to those who participated at the cookout(in no particular order):
Samantha Abrams for helping me to organize it in her spare time and for helping at the food booth.
Brandon Stewart Pro-Appétit for donating his time and skills to run the grill.
Jillian LaBrie and Jillian & Company for donating their time to give haircuts of which they donated all proceeds…including tips.
Jack Perry and HQ Dumpsters & Recycling for not only providing the cans to collect donations at multiple donation sites, but for seeing that there was a beautiful new truck present at the cookout for the kids to check out.
A Moment Away Spa Plainville (and Southington) and owner Lindsey DellaVecchia for donating the time and resources to offer massages at the cookout.
Eric Hellman and Laurie Finlay Hellmann owners of Bounce Boyz Rentals for donating the bounce house for the kids.
Ryan McEachern for the help and healthy snack provided.
Mark and John of Southington Community Services for lending a hand in setting up.
Efrain Valentin and Valentin Karate for the inflatable obstacle course and the karate demos from Mr H and all the kids.
Ashley Fulton and Rita’s Italian Ice for being a drop off location for bottle collection and all the help and donations they made.
TD Homer’s for donating all their returns for a month.
Eddie’s Sombrero for donating all their returns for over a month.
DJ Jenni B (Jennifer Beaudoin) for donating her time and making sure it was a fun party filled with music.
Stacey Dolan for the help in spreading the word.
Melinda Whitman for the help in getting donations.
Mike Chaiken for getting an article printed in the Observer for us.
Jim Bailey and CT Solid Surfaces for their donation of the vanity we raffled off.
A big thanks to everyone who volunteered their time in providing trucks for the kids to check out.
Company 3 Volunteer Fire Department; Bill’s Auto Body Dave Badgley; HQ Dumpster; SVS and Adam Shaw; the F&F Concrete Corporation and Dave Forgione; and to everyone who donated their time, recyclables, or food.
Thank you. Without everyone this never would have been the success it was.
To everyone who came down to enjoy the beautiful day and help make it a success by showing up…Thank you. This was about community coming together and without you, it wouldn’t have happened.
To anyone whom I may have forgotten to list and thank, thank you as well. I am looking forward to doing many more events and fundraisers in the coming days, so stay tuned.
