Southington Republicans and Democrats have announced their candidates for the Board of Education (BOE) for this November’s election.

The BOE will see five Republicans, Brian Goralski, Colleen Clark, Patricia Queen, Terry Lombardi, and Terri Carmody run for re-election, alongside Democrat incumbents Dave J. Derynoski, Patricia P. Johnson and Zaya G. Oshana Jr.

Republican Juanita Champagne and three new Democrats, Robert Brown, Joseph A. DelDebbio, and Susan M. Locks will join the race.

In addition, the Registrar of Voters will conduct a public lottery on Wednesday, Aug. 26, to determine the order in which names of qualified candidates running for offices with multiple openings will appear on the ballot label. That includes the Board of Education, Town Council, Board of Finance, Planning and Zoning Commission, and Board of Water Commission.

The lottery will be held in the old council chamber in the Town Hall, 75 Main St., Southington, at 10am.

This year’s ballot will include 18 incumbent Republicans and nine incumbent Democrats, along with 11 new Democrats and three new Republican candidates.

The municipal election will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 3.
