The Apple Harvest Committee has announced that Apple Harvest Hostess applications are being accepted for this year’s festival.
This fall will mark the 47th Annual Apple Harvest Festival, and the Apple Harvest Hostesses have been serving the festival since its inception. Hostesses get to see first-hand how our community can come together to celebrate the town.
The objective of the Apple Harvest Hostess is to promote the festival as ambassadors to the event in the months leading up to the two-week event. Through volunteering their time and efforts, they play a major role in promoting the local festival.
Hostesses must be Southington residents, and they must be high school juniors or seniors for the upcoming 2015-16 school year. A hostess should be able to interact with the community and have the time it takes to dedicate to the festival.
“Volunteering with the Festival can be time consuming, but the feeling of helping others and our town comes with a great sense of accomplishment,” officials said in a press release.
Hostess applications are available at the Southington High School main office, the Southington Parks and Recreation office, or at the Festival website www.southington.org.
The application deadline is Friday May, 29.
