Gina Bianca Hair salon hosted a four-hour Cut-A-Thon last week, to raise money for The Autism Society.
During what salon owner Bianca described as “a great cause and a great way to stay beautiful,” the salon raised $200 in honor of Autism Awareness Month.
Many clients said they enjoyed the opportunity to donate the cost of their new style.
“I get to look good and do it for a good reason,” said Stephanice Barberi of Waterbury.
Kristin Mabry, Watertown, cut 14 inches from her hair for the cause. “I always wanted to get it cut but didn’t have the courage,” said Mabry, “I figured this was the perfect reason.”
While the team at Gina Bianca Hair hopes for a larger turn out next year, “the whole team was honored to service those who took time out of their busy lives to support such an amazing cause” and are already looking forward to future fundraisers, said Bianca.
