Christine Honohan, 37, of Southington turned herself into the Southington Police headquarters on April 24 after learning there was a warrant for her arrest. Honohan was processed and charged with third degree larceny and released on a court-set promise to appear bond pending a Bristol Superior Court appearance on May 4.
According to police, the warrant stemmed from an investigation begun after a Hatton Elementary School PTO report that their former treasurer embezzled approximately $6,000 from PTO funds during a period between August 2014 and October 2014.
The investigation revealed that Honohan made several cash withdrawals, wrote a personal check to herself, and purchased items with the PTO debit card. All of the activities were for personal use and without authorization from the PTO.
