Police make arrest in domestic dispute

On March 27, at approximately 6:18 a.m., Southington police were dispatched to the Days Inn on Laning street after receiving a report of a domestic dispute.

According to a police press release, the victim reported she was assaulted by her boyfriend, Louis Flores, age 29 of Waterbury, and she sustained a minor injury. According to the release, the incident was said to take place while they were inside a vehicle, and a juvenile (the victim’s minor son) was in very close proximity when the incident occurred. Flores, who did not have a valid driver’s license, fled the scene in an unregistered, uninsured vehicle with improper marker plates. He was stopped by police and taken into custody.

Flores was transported to Southington Police Department headquarters and charged with third degree assault, risk of injury to a minor, breach of peace, second degree unlawful restraint, operating an unregistered motor vehicle, improper use of marker plates, and operating a motor vehicle without a license.

He was held on a $50,000 bond pending a court appearance.
