Sliders Grill & Bar seeks franchise opportunities

Sliders Grill & Bar is now seeking franchisees to expand the independently owned local restaurant into a larger chain.

President and Chief Finance Officer of Sliders Grill & Bar Dan Rowe said that the business is ready to expand because of its sound operation and training methods.

“We feel that over the last five or six years, with our internal expansion, we’ve developed the proper systems and methods to make it easier for a franchisee, who is not really familiar with the brand, to come in and have a road map to success,” said Rowe.

The business is prepared to provide franchisees with two to four weeks of office training for the financial end of the business and then four to six weeks of in-store training to learn the functionality of the restaurant.

Sliders Grill & Bar is known for its chicken wings with options including 21 homemade sauces and rubs.

“Our brand has grown. The recognition of our brand has grown throughout several years, and we continue to get awards for our chicken wings,” said Rowe. “So I think we can hold ourselves up pretty well with the national competitors.”

The business has expanded from one to five restaurants throughout the state since 1993, according to a press release.

We’ve experienced continual growth over the years,” said Rowe.

In the years to come, the business is looking to open franchise restaurants across Connecticut, Massachusetts, and New York. However, the business is currently focused on selling one franchise at a time.

“Right now, we’re focused on marketing the idea of franchising, and we hired a franchise broker,” said Rowe. “If we could sell one franchise this year, then we would be satisfied. Then, obviously, each year we would want to sell more and more franchises.”

According to a press release, Sliders has won over 100 title awards for its wings at both the regional and national level. Along with 20 beers on tap, 30 bottled beers, and up to 50 high definition televisions in each restaurant, the restaurant has become a huge attraction for Sunday football and pay per view fight nights.

“Sporting events always draw a big crowd at Sliders,” said the press release.

Besides its famous wings, the restaurant also offers burgers, salads, wraps, and sandwiches on its menu.

“From the very start my mission has been to create a memorable experience that friends and family could enjoy together that embodied affordable value, superior quality, and exciting entertainment,” said Sliders owner Fred Marcantonio in a press release. “It is an absolute honor to have the opportunity to share this success with my potential franchisees.”
