The new Don Tinty Bristol Boys & Girls Club Family Center will open its doors to the public this Friday, Nov. 28 during an open house.
The open house will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the new center located on West Street. The event features a number of local sponsors, including The Barnes Group, ESPN, Bank of America, Fiondella, Milone & La Saracina LLP, O & G Industries, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Wealth Preservation Partners, and ConnectiCare.
Surrounded by double-glazed insulated windows, the new 40,000 square-foot state-of-the-art building features a number of amenities that serves people of all ages, including a teen center, game room, technology center, and an arts and science center. Designed by Amara Associates and built by O&G Industries, Inc., the new center is equipped with a 13,700 square-foot field house that can be used for basketball, soccer and volleyball as well as community events. The facility also includes a performing arts center, a fitness center, and a community center, which offers space for education, expression of the arts, and community events.
Throughout its campaign, the Boys and Girls Club received contributions and donations from different people in the community, including ESPN, the Barnes family, Thomaston Savings Bank, and other organizations and businesses, as well as countless individuals to make the project possible.
