Southington High School alumni from Class of 1992, Susan (Tufts) DeBisschop, has fallen on illness and hard times.
Over the past two years, a press release from the Southington Community YMCA explained, DeBisschop, has seen dozens of doctors, many from Yale New Haven Hospital, John Hopkins University, and Cleveland Clinic to search for a diagnosis to her illness. Yet, she has no definitive diagnosis. The release explained she experiences severe pain and discomfort in muscles, severe headaches, and narcolepsy. Her symptoms restrict and limit her ability to do the everyday things that most of us take for granted such as taking walks in the park, doing the dishes, building tents in the living room with her son and spending quality family time with those she loves the most. As a result, Susan had to give up her career as a teacher and finding it difficult to provide for her family.
As of late her family has fallen further into debt, the news release explained. “Her husband works full time, however the challenges of providing care for her and Jacob, purchasing health insurance and costly medication for her illness put a strain on their ability to pay bills and save money for long term needs,” said the press release
