Man jumps out of window to escape fire

A Summer Ridge man is in stable condition after he jumped from a second floor window to escape a fire.
On Sunday, May 4, the Southington Fire Department was called to a structure fire at 250 Summer Ridge.
The as of yet unidentified man jumped out of the second floor window of unit 28 and was injured in the fall. The man also sustained burn injuries.
He was taken to Bridgeport Hospital and is expected to recover.
The building has 12 total units and four of the units, 27-30, are uninhabitable due to fire and water damage. All other units were reoccupied after the fire was put out.
Fire marshals are still investigating the cause of the fire, which began in unit 28.
The Southington Fire Department will release more information as it becomes available.
