Hiker injured in fall at Ragged Mountain

The Southington Fire Department rescued a hiker who fell while hiking along Ragged Mountain last Sunday morning. The hiker, who authorities have yet to name, had fallen about 25-30 feet. Twelve firefighters, entering the area via the Carey Street, came to the hiker’s aid. The hiker was packaged and carried off the mountain to Carey Street, where AMR transported him to Wassel Reservoir where Lifestar landed and flew the hiker to St. Francis Hospital’s trauma center.
Officials are not releasing any further information at this time.
