Bristol Rotary offers scholarships to area students

The Bristol Rotary Scholarship Fund, Inc. has a scholarship program available to seniors residing and attending high school in Burlington, Bristol, Plainville, Plymouth, and Southington. The scholarship program was funded by the late Karl J. Schwartz, a former Rotarian and Bristol native.

This year, the scholarship program will award six scholarships of $5,000 each, renewable every year for a total of four years, to high school seniors who are planning to attend a full –time undergraduate program at an accredited four-year college or university for the 2014-2015 academic year.

The scholarships are renewable annually for an additional three years subject to the renewal conditions outlined in the program. Thus it is possible for a student to receive a total of $20,000 in financial aid.

In addition to academic and other requirements, financial need is a key consideration in awarding the scholarships.

This scholarship program is administered on behalf of the Bristol Rotary Club by Scholarship Management services, a division of Scholarship America.

Applications may be found on the Bristol Rotary Club website

The postmark deadline for applications sent to Scholarship America is April 1, 2014.
