Southington Police are asking for the public’s help in tracking down a suspect that allegedly robbed a Mobil Gas Station at Meriden-Waterbury Turnpike.
Police received an armed robbery call on Monday, Dec. 23 at 3 a.m. at the Mobil at 1869 Meriden-Waterbury Turnpike.
An employee reported as he exited the restroom area of the business he noticed the suspect quickly walking from the main entrance door towards him. The suspect then grabbed the employee’s shirt and put an unknown object to the side of the employee’s neck. The employee believes that the object was a knife.
The suspect then pushed the employee towards the cash register and demanded money and told the employee that he “wasn’t going to kill him.” The employee opened the cash register and the suspect grabbed cash from the drawer, put the cash in his pocket and fled the store.
K-9 units were called in and tracked the suspect from the Mobil Gas station to Knotter Drive the track ended at the driveway of the Home Depot on Knotter Drive.
This suspect is described as a white male, believed to be shorter than 6’0” and approximately 180 lbs. The suspect was wearing a white hooded sweatshirt with the hood over his head. The suspect had a full beard that was reddish brown in color. The suspect was wearing dark colored sweat pants.
It was reported that several hundred dollars were taken during the course of the robbery.
