Wildcat coaches couldn’t have been too disappointed when their Lincoln College NE basketball team trailed the No. 2 team in the NJCAA division III rankings nine points at the half, but on Saturday, Nov. 2 the Wildcats were just getting started.
Jordan Taylor led the locals with 20 points, 15 rebounds, and three blocks. Jalen David came off the bench to score 17 points with 11 boards and three assists.
Lincoln College shooters rallied for seven three-pointers and 40 points in the second half as the Wildcats out-lasted Sullivan County Community College, 78-77, in the season opener.
Davis Dairyon (13 points) was the only other Wildcat in double digits, but Michael Campbell and Kyre Jackson finished with eight points apiece.
It doesn’t get any easier from here. Lincoln College (1-0) will face No. 9 Roxbury in the conference opener on Tuesday, Nov. 5.
