Will you be the next CT Icon?

July 31, 2013

Do you or someone you know sing and have what it takes? Come on out on Saturday, Sept. 21 and let the judges decide. Twelve finalists will be selected on audition day between the hours of 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at DerynoskiSchool in Southington.

This is the fifth year of this singing competition. This competition is open to Connecticut residents ages 9 and up.

The Connecticut Icon performances for 2013 will be held during Southington’s 45th Annual Apple Harvest Festival. Finalists will then go on to compete on multiple days during the festival. Based on audience voting and the judges input, contestants are eliminated until the winner is declared on the last day of the Festival.

The Connecticut Icon winner will receive $1,000 cash and the opportunity to professionally record at Onyx Soundlab Recording Studio in Manchester with the possibility that the recordings will be submitted to several record companies. Winners will also receive the chance to sing at various venues or restaurants.

Audition Day will be held on Saturday, Sept. 21 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at DerynoskiSchool located at 240 Main St., Southington, CT.  All auditions will be a cappella.
