After a little more than a week on the job, Mark DeVoe has resigned from the position of Director of Planning and Community Development.
According to his resignation letter, DeVoe’s last day was Friday, July 19.
“Please accept my deep apologies for any inconvenience I may have caused you or the Town of Southington,” DeVoe said in his resignation letter to Town Manager Garry Brumback. “It is my hope that having made this decision quickly, the town may resume its search for an appropriate candidate for this position.”
DeVoe claimed personal reasons for his departure and will be returning to his former job as director of Planning and Economic Development in Plainville earlier this week.
“I wish him well,” Town Manager Garry Brumback said, noting he was disappointed that DeVoe left, but understood his decision. “I felt he was doing a fine job.”
Dave Lavallee will once again take over the position in the interim.
