The Starbucks on Queen Street is back open, following an early morning bomb threat.

Police responded to Starbucks just before 8 a.m., following a telephone threat. Five employees and 20 customers were evacuated from the premises.

“The threat was they were going to blow up the establishment,” said Police Spokesman Sgt. Jeff Dobratz.

Dobratz said that the Southington Police and Fire Departments responded along with the state police. A state police K-9 unit searched the building.

“Nothing appeared out of the ordinary,” Dobratz said.

The employees were allowed back in the business about an hour after the threat was received. Police are still investigating the threat.
