Application deadlines are quickly approaching for grants and scholarships from funds administered by the Main Street Community Foundation. Grant applications are due on April 5, 2013, and scholarship applications are due on April 1 by 4 p.m. Information is available on the Foundation’s website at www.mainstreetfoundation.org. The Main Street Community Foundation serves the Connecticut towns of Bristol, Burlington, Plainville, Plymouth, Southington and Wolcott.
The Foundation accepts grant proposals from 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations seeking support for charitable projects in the areas of education, health, human services, sports field maintenance, environment and arts and culture. Interested organizations are required to contact Jarre Betts, Director of Programs & Community Relations, at (860)583.6363 before submitting a proposal. Proposals are due April 5 , at 4 p.m.
The Foundation also accepts applications for scholarships from area residents who wish to pursue their educational goals. These scholarship funds target many diverse areas of study and are available to students at various points in their educational careers. The 2013 scholarship directory and the common application form are available on the Foundation’s website, www.mainstreetfoundation.org. The deadline for the majority of the scholarships is April 1 at 4 p.m.; consult the directory for the few exceptions.
