The Southington Police Department has made an arrest in relation to the December 3 robbery at Farmington Savings Bank.
Earlier this morning, Robert Armstrong, 35, of 22 Dunham Drive, Berlin, turned himself into police after learning of a warrant for his arrest. He was charged with third degree robbery and fifth degree larceny.
Bond was set at $100,000 with a scheduled court appearance at Bristol Superior Court this afternoon.
According to the arrest warrant, Armstrong entered the Farmington Savings Bank at 1 Center Street and demanded money. No weapon was shown or implied during the robbery.
An investigation led police to Armstrong, who was interviewed by police and later confessed to the robbery. He also confessed to bank robberies in Berlin and Bristol.
The Farmington Bank robbery was part of a rash of burglaries that occurred in early December. Another bank in Southington and the 7-11 on Queen Street were all hit within a 24-hour period.
