The Drive-In Committee held its second attempt at a Halloween-themed double feature, with an added full afternoon of activities before the evening movies last Saturday.
A similar screening was planned for last year but, like numerous other local events, it was disrupted by Winter Storm Alfred. The surprise October snowstorm meant the event was canceled and the drive-in’s supervisory committee opted to simply try again the next year.
Several local organizations (the involvement of which is a key element of the drive-in) sponsored events to entertain the crowds. Police, fire department and construction vehicles contributed to a “Touch a Truck” event, the local band Hard Water performed, Valentine the Clown did face-paintings, local painted pumpkins, pony rides were available, and Lewis Farms provided hay to be used for a “hay climb” and a “haunted hay ride.”
In the midst of all the activity, a camera was present filming the drive-in as part of a planned new reality television show about the return of drive-in theaters in America.
